Ok, i was able to get my hands on a copy of the Kaplan Webprep 2007 DVDs. I aquired my copy via a friend (not online). The total size of the dvd collection is 96 gigs. I've gone a head and started ziping up and chopping down the files to be uploaded on rapidshare over the next few days/ weeks (i'm only on a DSL so it may take awhile to upload these files).

I'll post the links here as soon as i get them.

Thank you so much for uploading these video files! I am confused by the file extension. I dowloaded "anatomy.zip.071" - my computer could not recognize it as a archive file. Next I donloaded it, but I changed the file name to "anatomy071.zip" before I downloaded it. My computer still will not uncompress the file. I have tried using Winzip and Winace. to avoid loosing your work because of a missing file, don't split a single huge compressed file in many files! you can split the large videos in smaller ones, according to lectures, compress each one of them (rar is better than zip), and upload them. That way if a file is missing, deleted or corrupted, people who downloaded the other files will still be able to open them...

I was confused--my files are indeed Centerprep --> they are from the kaplan dvd (NOT WEBPREP). They are video files, i zipped them from my video library. I have been told that biochem is not unzipping properly...is this confirmed? i am uploading physio video files right now (zipping only video clips >100mb).

Well, I joined using HJsplit. It created an 11.5 gb file. But unzipping it, most of it was corrupt. DVD9 only had 3.11 gb of videos. DVD8 had 2 videos and DVD7 had no videos. Im gonna try that quickpar repair.


What i did --> my copy of files was pre organized into folders labled by the dvds they were ripped from. For biochem i hi=lighted all folders named biochem and dragged them into Aladdin to make one big zip file. I did not use any compression. It crunched out a file approx 11gigs. I then used ajoiner (the mac version of hjsplit) and chopped them down to 100mb file. I uploaded all of these files.

As that process alone took a very long time, i never unziped to confirm it would be error free (just assumed it would work).

Your expanded file description seems right (perhaps one folder is empty, but the size is accurate). Are you sure you are not able to play the files? Do you have all proper codecs installed? My friend was not able to play with must media player, a codec is needed. I use quicktime (but i'm on mac) but go knows how many codecs i've installed. try to open with VLC and reply back if it works.

Also i am going to upload the codec that was given to me with these files. I never had to install it because it just worked on my computer. It is an exe file--use with caution. (Keep in mind a friend gave it to me and told me that he needed to install it before it worked).

I am placing the codec into the biochem directory. Let us know if that helped with anything!!!

it kept messing up; i was getting duplicate files and people weren't even able to unzip. with megaupload i am able to upload w/o zipping and it resumes uploads. A life with a mac is a great life, but every now and then it does have complications --> rapidshare uploading being one of them. But it seems that megaupload is better for this project as there is no download limits (25 gig on rapidshare). I always thought megaupload was bad, but i got to say..i've changed my mind. I'll post a notice when the upload project is complete for those that just want to grab a one month membership .

it seems that megaupload truncated the name. in the above post i have the names and sizes of all pharm files. there is nothing i can do to rename the file once they are uploaded.

I have not received any complaints about files not working, so i would download all files...any duplicate names are just names not files...you will need to compare file sizes to the master list i posted for the correct name.

Hey jey, why not make a Md5 Hash file out of the pharm folder and all future folders? upload the Md5 file here and we can check the validity of the files.

1. download the zip
2. extract prog and go to "make check file"
3. point to pharm folder and click make file
4. this is a LONG process since it scans every file and makes a hash.
5. upload the "file.Md5" here
6. We download the same program and check :d

Md5 files are special files that can be made from a single/original file(s) when the need calls for transporting files over torrent/other means of sharing where file data may be lost or corrupt they "make sure the file the person has is the exact same as the original file". They are pretty small 10-50 kb and can be passed around easily.

So using the program you make a "government official" file called something.mdf from the pharm files - upload the md5 file to megashare.

People download it and check thier pharm files for mislabels/different sizes/other anomalies using your provided md5 file.

This way, the downloaders can tell if they have the exact same pharm files as you for sure - its a 100% guarantee check.

I don't know who is responsible for uploading the files. It seems there are a lot of problems (splitting, naming, uploading, etc). Would it not be simpler to make torrent files and have everybody download and share?

Mac's aren't 100 % compatible with megaupload so that's where the problems are ling. there is no more splitting so that won't be an issue..really it comes down to nameing..LoL you will have the files; just rename them..we got a thread addressing these issues...it's a lot faster then torrent ; but if u want me to stop uploading...i can do that.

Everything on rapidshare is going to be migrated to megaupload!

don't worry about torrents/old folders/bad files/condensing it more/rapidshare, etc.

i'm sure i speak for all when i say - dont waste time on the little things - when its the fundamental task of uploading of the files to the current megaupload folders is what gives us goosebumps and puts butterflies in our stomach (since some such as i can't afford the 3 grand to shell out for the kaplan vids)

we're all lookin forward to fresh files in the anatomy, physio, biochem, etc folders in the near future. watching renal (physio video) as I type; so it does mean a lot to me --> hope to see more updates.

and more importantly -- thank you for your tremendous hard work with these uploads.
